Singapore's 2015 football dream gets a S$1.5 million boost

SINGAPORE - The Republic wants to host the 2015 SEA Games and, if it happens, the goal is for Singapore's under-23 football team to win the gold on home ground.

The target received a boost yesterday when the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) emerged as one of the big winners in funding for the coming financial year.

Football is among eight sports that will receive more than S$1.5 million from the Singapore Sports Council (SSC), an increase of 50 per cent from last year.
