DALLAS, TX – A Dallas police officer accused of kicking a handcuffed suspect in the face and pepper-spraying him was fired and then arrested Wednesday, police officials said.
A second officer, Hiram Soler, was suspended for 10 days for entering inaccurate, false or improper information on a police report.
Video taken by a patrol car dashboard camera showed that officer Quaitemes Williams kicked and sprayed Rodarick Lyles after pulling him over in the 9400 block of Abrams Road on Jan. 27.
Lyles was suspected of driving with a suspended license and had a warrant for driving without a license.
Then he was arrested and taken to the Dallas County Jail. He faces a charge of official oppression.
