The Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported yesterday that the restaurant at Turf City was packed with about 300 patrons at the time. The police operation lasted almost five hours.
Assistant Commissioner Hoong Wee Teck, director of the Criminal Investigation Department, reiterated that the police "will continue to take a tough stance on gangs". He added: "Those who choose to associate with gangs, regardless of the nature of activities, will be taken to task.
