British nursery teacher sprayed Asian pupils with air freshener

A British nursery teacher from Wales has been accused of humiliating her pupils aged three to six, by spraying them with air freshener every morning for 'smelling of curry', reported UK's the Daily Mail.

48-year-old Elizabeth Davies would tell a group of Bangladeshi children that they smelled of onions or curry, and say: "There's a waft coming in from paradise", before standing over them and blasting them with the aerospray.

Davies has had 20 years of experience as a nursery school teacher, and taught at the inner-city school where more than half her pupils are Bangladeshi.

She was later sacked from her £34,000-a-year (S$69,924) job at Hafod Primary School in Swansea over 'child protection concerns.'

However, police have said Davies would not face any charges in relation to the complaints lodged against her.

The hearing to decide if she should be struck off the teaching register, continues.
