SINGAPORE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MFA) has issued a warning against travel to Egypt in light of the recent unrest.
In response to media queries on the situation in Egypt, the MFA Spokesman said: "There have been a number of large-scale protests which occurred in various parts of Egypt on 28 January 2011, including in parts of downtown Cairo. The Egyptian Government had announced yesterday a curfew from 6 pm to 7 am (local time) effective yesterday in Cairo, Alexandria and Suez.
"In view of the latest development and fluid situation, MFA would strongly recommend that Singaporeans defer all non-essential travel to Egypt."
