SINGAPORE - An unemployed man pleaded guilty yesterday to stuffing rubbish and faeces into a Singapore Post letter box.
The court heard that 45-year-old Chim Wai Chong, who suffers from schizophrenia, did so as he thought the letters he posted for several contests had not been properly delivered. He did not win any prizes, and this led him to assume that the postal system had cheated him.
District Judge Soh Tze Bian called for a pre-sentence probation report and the case will be mentioned again on Aug 2. Chim could be fined a maximum of $1,000. MORE
