Members of the Pioneer Generation paid less for their medicines at polyclinics on Friday (Jan 2).

With enhanced medication subsidies kicking in this year, more affordable healthcare is provided to lower- and middle-income Singaporeans.

Pioneers Channel NewsAsia spoke to were generally appreciative of the scheme, but not all were sure of the benefits.

One of them said: "It benefits us a lot. Usually I pay over S$20 for medication, but today, it was about $5.80 only."

However, another pioneer noted: "I saw the ads, but I do not know how these subsidies will help."
