Commuters at all North-East Line MRT stations as well as 12 other stations will get free Wi-Fi access by the end of next year, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Thursday (Dec 18).
The 12 stations are Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Bukit Batok, Buona Vista, Choa Chu Kang, Clementi, Eunos, Jurong East, Khatib, Paya Lebar, Sembawang and Yishun.
Currently, free Wi-Fi access is available at City Hall, Orchard and Raffles Place and selected platforms at Bishan, Dhoby Ghaut and Outram Park stations.
Wi-Fi-connected platforms can be identified by posters and decals at these stations.
Commuters who wish to access the free Wi-Fi at train stations will first have to set up an account with Wireless@SG.
The aim is that, by the end of 2015, commuters waiting for trains at platforms of 32 stations will also get to enjoy the service.
