It's an online tool, actually.

Parents looking to better manage conflicts with their children can now tap on a new online resource.

For many parents, the occasional quarrel with their children is part of family life. Now, a new online tool hopes to help families turn conflicts into opportunities to build stronger ties. Parents can get advice on their style of handling conflicts and how to manage them better.

The website was introduced on Sunday (August 3) by the Ministry of Social and Family Development, even as a survey it conducted recently showed that about 80 per cent of parents were satisfied with their relationship with their children.

About 90 per cent of parents surveyed believed that "being a good parent" is an important life goal, while 80 per cent were satisfied with their family life.

The survey polled about 600 parents who have at least one child aged between 7 and 18. The findings were shared on Sunday at the close of the Singapore Parenting Congress (2014), which was co-organised by Families for Life and MediaCorp.

Focused on connecting with kids in the digital age, the event saw more than 3,000 parents gathered over two days to pick up parenting tips from local and international experts.
