Sunderland swoop for Chelsea defender Van Aanholt
Sunderland have completed the signing of left-back Patrick van Aanholt from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee.

The Netherlands international, who has been capped twice by his country and was named in Louis van Gaal's 30-man provisional squad ahead of this summer's FIFA World Cup, has joined the Black Cats on a four-year deal.

The defender becomes the Wearsiders' fourth summer signing, following the arrivals of Billy Jones, Costel Pantilimon and Jordi Gomez.

Crystal Palace complete transfer of Cardiff striker Campbell
Crystal Palace have completed their second signing of the summer with the transfer of striker Fraizer Campbell for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year deal after agreeing to join the Eagles from Championship side Cardiff City.

Campbell's arrival follows that of Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper Chris Kettings on a free transfer and the confirmation of new contracts for goalkeeper Julian Speroni and fellow striker Marouane Chamakh.

Didier Drogba re-signs for Chelsea
"He is coming with the mentality to make more history," said Jose Mourinho after confirming that Chelsea have re-signed striker Didier Drogba on a one-year contract.

Drogba, who has re-joined on a free transfer, returns to the club he served with distinction over a period of eight seasons following a two-year absence, having established himself at Stamford Bridge as one of the most successful players in the Blues' history.

An imposing physical presence with a clinical eye in front of goal Drogba helped Chelsea establish themselves as a major force in English and European club football, winning three Barclays Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups as well as the UEFA Champions League.

"It was an easy decision," Drogba, who has won the Premier League Golden Boot twice, told chelseafc.com. "I couldn't turn down the opportunity to work with Jose again. Everyone knows the special relationship I have with this club and it has always felt like home to me."

Man Utd offload Bebe to Benfica
Bebe's spell at Manchester United has come to an end after he was sold to Benfica on Friday. United paid Vitoria de Guimaraes £7.4m for the striker in 2010, but he only started three games - all in cup competitions.

The 24-year-old, who made seven appearances in total, was shipped out on loan to Besiktas, Rio Ave and Pacos de Ferreira. Benfica confirmed they had bought the player, releasing a statement on their website which read: "Bebe has signed an agreement with SL Benfica for four years." Sir Alex Ferguson famously revealed he signed Bebe without seeing him play live.
