For more than 15 minutes on Wednesday, the lawyer paced the courtroom, frantically trying to call her client on her mobile phone.
But by the time the hearing began, the client, Soh Seng Tze, was no where to be found.
Soh had on March 4 pleaded guilty to six charges, including failing to stop for a police officer, dangerous driving, driving under disqualification and failing to render assistance after an accident.
He was due to be sentenced on Wednesday for the series of offences, which includes leading police on a high speed chase on expressways across Singapore, reaching speeds of 185kmh.
A warrant of arrest has been issued against Soh for failing to show up in court.
