Two men who are believed to be responsible for a spate of break-ins at private residential estates across the island have been arrested. The suspects were arrested in Bukit Timah and Geylang at 3.30am on Friday.

Over the past two weeks, the suspects broke into residential properties in estates at Faber Drive, Kew Crescent, Binchang Drive and others.

Police believe that the culprits, aged 31 and 32, had gained entry into the residential properties at night by scaling over the boundary wall, climbing in through unsecured kitchen or toilet windows, or forcing open the sliding doors of the units.

The duo would then search for valuable items lying around in the units and remove them while the occupants were asleep.

They were caught with mobile phones, laptops, cameras, watches, local and foreign currencies and tools including screwdrivers, a spanner and a pair of pliers.
