President's Star Charity show pulls in over S$5.09m

The President's Star Charity, the annual entertainment show-cum-fundraiser, was held on Sunday evening.

It raised $5,092,720 in total from corporate donors, telepolls and online donations.

Themed "It's the little things", it aims to encourage Singaporeans to get involved and do their part in helping the less fortunate.

The show aims to raise funds and awareness for the 55 beneficiaries under the President's Challenge 2013.

Phone lines are still open, and the public have until 26 October to make their donations.

They can call 1900-112-8821 to pledge a $5 donation, 1900-112-8822 for a $20 donation and 1900-112-8823 for a $100 donation.

There will be a repeat telecast of the show on Saturday 26 October, 4pm to 6.30pm on Channel 5.
