The One FC Bantamweight Championship was won by Bibiano Fernandes after he ousted Soo-chul Kim in a hard-fought bout that went the distance at One FC: Total Domination.

The South Korean quashed all belief that the bout was a mismatch from the start as he stood toe-to-toe with the AMC Pankration fighter.

The 21-year-old from Seoul showed why he was billed as a dangerous underdog as he landed some hard kicks which rocked the Brazilian over the twenty five minutes of action.

Fernandes was the better fighter, though, as he secured more takedowns and took little damage from the varied nature of Kim's striking attacks.

The co-main event between Shinya Aoki, the current One FC lightweight champion, and Cody Stevens also lasted all three rounds although the American was booed by the audience when he landed an unintentional knee to the Tobikan Judan's groin, requiring Aoki a five-minute break to complete a recovery.

The 30-year-old Japanese man came back strong, however, with an obvious ground game strategy in mind, pulling a full mount on the American at every opportunity. It seemed that Aoki, unable to match the natural striking ability of the Tiger Muay Thai fighter, was attempting to play the clock as he continually pinned Stevens down.

The fighter from Ohio seemed helpless all through the three rounds as he simply could not counter Aoki’s tenacious ground game.

The second female MMA matchup in One FC history between Borneo Fight Team's Ann Osman and Fight G's Lim proved to be a gritty affair that lasted all three rounds and was fought mostly on the ground.

Lim weathered her opponent’s punches and memorably reversed Osman’s guard in the third round with 3:27 on the clock, drawing blood in a move that decided the split-decision win in the Singaporean's favour.

Local gym Evolve MMA had a less than desirable start to Total Domination, though, as Mitch Chilson’s anticipated “unfinished business” with Shannon Wiratchai was brought an abrupt resolution at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The American had previously been defeated by the Thai fighter in their previous One FC encounter but that fight had been ruled a no-contest due to what was then considered an illegal soccer kick.

On Friday night, Wiratchai secured a victory in remarkably similar fashion as his fearsome soccer kicks prompted referee Yuji Shimada to end the match just 1:52 seconds into the first round.

Chilson's team-mate Jake Butler had an equally poor outing although he was on equal footing against Frenchman Sylvain Potard within the first round as both carried out a ground-based chess game, jostling to submit one another.

The French Judoka expert, however, sprang his trap early within the second round - just as Butler rushed in, Potard countered with a stunning blow that was followed by a flurry of punches, bringing an end to the fight just 42 seconds into the round.

Eddie ‘The Magician’ Ng restored pride for Evolve with a lightning-swift first-round victory against Peter Davis, a freestyle fighter from Malaysia’s Muayfit gym. The Hong Kong national punched into his opponent straight from the offset and registered a head kick that stunned his opponent.

After some jostling, the 27-year-old pulled out a dangerous armbar that prompted Davis to call out and surrender defeat.

Meanwhile, in the middleweight division, WUFC Champion Rafael Silva faced Tatsuya Mizuno featured in an action-packed three-round match-up. The Portugese drew blood early, cutting the Japanese above the eye that caused a minor stoppage during the bout.

Silva weathered most of Tatsuya’s punches with a ready smile, egging him on for most of the fight, but it was the Japanese who got the win in the end on account of a sterling final-round display.

Cambodia was the other country from the region to see a winner on the night as Khim Diva, a Kun Khmer Champion, took on Rene Catalan, a world wushu exponent, in a fiery contest that ended in the former's favour just 3:40 into the second round.
