Man falls into 3m-deep hole at Bukit Batok

Two parking officers were taking a short cut on Thursday night after patrolling a multi-storey carpark beside Block 404, Bukit Batok West Avenue 7, when one of them heard a thump.

When he turned around, his colleague was missing.

Mr Kasim Martoyoh, 66, searched for Mr Fairuz Abu Bakar (photo), 37, and found him about a minute later, trapped in a 3m hole a few feet away.

Singapore Civil Defence Force officers rescued Mr Fairuz with a ladder about 20 minutes later.

The impact of the fall caused bruises on his neck, back and knees.
