A jogger was so angry at being confronted by an escaped pit bull that he choked its (sort-of) owner with the dog's own leash Sunday night in Queen Anne, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to the police report for the incident, the jogger was in the 1600 block of 10th Avenue West around 8:50 p.m. when a pit bull ran in front of him and started to growl. The jogger yelled at the dog, and it ran behind a bush.

The jogger later told officers he yelled, "Who owns this dog? Come and get him" before seeing a man walking down the sidewalk calling for a dog by its name.

According to the report, the jogger asked the man if the pit bull belonged to him, and he said it didn't. But, the man had a dog leash draped over his shoulders, so the jogger asked him again two more times. This time the man said the dog belonged to his brother and parents.

The jogger was so angry about the pit bull not being on its leash that he grabbed the leash from the man's shoulders, wrapped it around his neck and started choking him, pulling him to the ground.

A witness in a nearby house saw what was happening, ran outside and tackled the jogger to get him off the man, according to the report.

Officers arrived, and the victim explained that the pit bull escaped when his brother took out the garbage. Officers arrested the jogger and booked him into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
