Running a hundred kilometres might not be everyone's favourite way of spending the weekend.
But not only did Wong Hoong Wei do that at the Sundown Ultra Marathon on Sunday, he also set a new Singaporean record for the gruelling event.
His winning time of 9 hrs 5 mins 34 secs smashed the previous record set in 2011.
The 33-year-old teacher's timing was more than seven minutes faster than the previous record.
He was joined on the podium by another Singaporean, Ong Kai Wei, who finished third.
Splitting them was Wong Kam Cheong from Hong Kong, who took second place in the event that started on Saturday evening and ended early Sunday morning.
