Two of the most respected mixed martial arts (MMA) camps in the entire world have formed a groundbreaking, strategic partnership to share training knowledge, coaching methodologies, fight strategies and other fight-related experience.
Evolve MMA in Singapore is widely regarded as being the premier facility of its type in Asia while Jackson's MMA in Albuquerque is consistently ranked as being among the top camps in the United Staes. The former is home to Shinya Aoki and Rafael Dos Anjos while the latter has produced a series of UFC champions including Georges St. Pierre, Jon Jones and Carlos Condit.
Jackson (pictured with Evolve MMA owner Chatri Sityodtong) conducted a seminar at Evolve MMA in February 2012 and the two camps formalized their relationship this week with the 2010 MMA "Coach of the Year" quoted as saying:
"It is a wonderful partnership that truly brings together the best of the West and the best of the East in terms of martial arts knowledge and experience."
Evolve MMA currently has two facilities in Singapore and recently announced plans to open up two more, as well as launching an online academy earlier this year titled Evolve University. According to Chatri, this partnership will see some of Jackson's MMA stars like St. Pierre, Jones, Condit, Donald Cerrone and Clay Guida heading to Singapore to train.
"It is a huge win-win partnership for the two best martial arts organizations in the world to join hands in this amazing collaboration."
The caliber of the camps involved could not be any higher and it will be interesting to see what comes of this strategic partnership and which fighters are the first to make the 9,000 mile trip between Singapore and Albuquerque.
