Community volunteers to get skills upgrade training

Under the President's Challenge 2013 Volunteer Drive, some 700 volunteers are expected to take up training to upgrade their skills so they can better serve the community.

As part of the training, volunteers learn skills to help the elderly such as conversing in dialects and helping seniors get in and out of wheelchairs. The skills that these volunteers are trained in are matched to the needs of Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs).
