A body has been found along the Kallang River, off Geylang Road, near the old People's Association headquarters.
Police officers were seen at the grassy area earlier on Thursday morning, and undertakers arrived at about 1pm.
According to some bus drivers who leave their vehicles overnight nearby, a passerby who was looking for a dog discovered the body in the morning.
The drivers said they had no other details of what might have happened.
