The shop owner of InterAsian Market and Deli in Nashville, Tennessee has received an apology note twelve years after being robbed by an armed man.

The father and son working that night recalled the man tried to buy beer, asked for cigarettes, then pulled out a handgun and demanded cash.

They complied, saying, "Money can be replaced."

According to CNN, the story comes full circle on September 6, 2013: Two men entered the market with a note and envelope of money. The note opens with a confession about drug addiction and admits to stealing $300. The note ends with, "I hope you will accept this money and find forgiveness. Peace be with you." Included was $400 cash.

The family posted the apology note on Twitter and Instagram with this message: "To the anonymous person we want to tell you all is forgiven and thank you for the note. We don't care about the money. We are more inspired and touched by your act. We hope you find peace in life and prosperity. Best wishes!"
