Singapore needs to review direction: PM Lee

Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, in a recent Facebook post emphasised that Singapore is at a turning point and needs to find a new way forward together.

He noted that the economy is maturing and Singapore’s population is ageing, and that different groups in society have more diverse, even conflicting, interests.

Older people worry about healthcare and costs of living, while the younger ones aspired to wider education opportunities and more affordable homes.

Thus, Mr Lee said Singapore needs to reassess its position, review its direction, and refresh strategies.

The Prime Minister said the government has already started adjusting policies to achieve the goal of a fair and just society.
