Nearly 1,700 turn up for Kranji Countryside Run despite rain

Nearly 1,700 people (or 80 per cent of 2,189 registrants) turned up for a run organised by the Kranji Countryside Association on Sunday morning.

The weather was dismal, but it did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the runners.

While the earlier eight-kilometre race was cancelled due to the rain, the four-kilometre Fun Run took off after a delay of half an hour.

Those who had signed up for the eight-kilometre run were invited to do the four-kilometre run.
