Mom accidentally drives truck through house; 2 children hurt

The bizarre drama began at about 8 a.m. Saturday as a 38-year-old woman was backing up the pickup in the driveway of a home in the 10800 block of Rainier Avenue South, said a spokesperson for the King County Sheriff's Office.

The pickup struck something, so the woman put the truck in a forward gear, hit the gas and then somehow managed to drive through the front of the house.

As the pickup went through the house, it struck something - possibly a dining room table - which injured her two children, ages 5 and 10.

The pickup then continued on and crashed through the back side of the house, pushing a couch out ahead of it.

The pickup came to rest in the back yard at the top of a steep embankment.

The incident remains under investigation.
