Body of man who fell into the waters off ECP recovered

A police spokesman stated that they received a call at 11.11am requesting for assistance along East Coast Park service road.

The Singapore Civil Defence (SCDF) sent one fire engine, one red rhino, two ambulances and two support vehicles to East Coast Park, near Jumbo Seafood.

Upon arrival, the police established that an unidentified person had fallen into the sea.

Following search and rescue operations by SCDF and Singapore Armed Forces' (SAF) Naval Diving Unit, a 51-year-old man was subsequently retrieved from the water at about 7.27pm.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by SCDF paramedics at 7.41pm while another man sustained cuts to his right leg and was sent to Changi General Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
