Mother in US accidentally reverses SUV into 2-year-old son

A mother hit and killed her 2-year-old son as she backed out of her driveway on Saturday.

Tacoma Police say at about 11:45 a.m., the woman was backing her Suburban (SUV) out of the driveway at her home and did not know her son was behind the vehicle.

She ran over the boy. He was taken to Mary Bridge Hospital, and a short time later he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating, but they believe this to be a tragic accident.
