New Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has described his return to the club as a "great moment" for him and the Blues.
The self-styled 'Special One' has signed a four-year contract with the West London side, which he left in 2007 after winning two league titles, the FA Cup and two league cups.
He replaces Rafa Benitez, who guided Chelsea to third place in the Premier League and won the Europa League after taking over the helm on an interim basis last November.
"I asked the boss Abramovich - 'do you want me back?' and the boss asked me 'do you want to come back?' and I think in a couple of minutes, decision made.
"I love it here and I have big connections with the club. I think we are ready to marry again and to be happy and successful again."
Mourinho first joined Chelsea in 2004 and led them to back-to-back Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006, but left the following year after falling out with Abramovich over transfer budgets.
The Portuguese went on to win league titles in Italy and Spain with Inter Milan and Real Madrid respectively.
He also told Chelsea TV: "In my career I had two great passions, Inter and Chelsea, and Chelsea is more important for me. It was very, very hard to play against Chelsea.
"Now I promise exactly the same thing I promised in 2004, with the difference that I'm one of you."
