A fire broke out at the Traffic Police headquarters in Ubi Avenue 3 at around 1pm yesterday.
The SCDF said that a 29-year-old woman was hospitalised for smoke inhalation and nine motorcycles were damaged during the blaze.
Readers of citizen journalism website Stomp Diana and Chin saw the blaze and said that loud sounds could be heard at the scene.
An SCDF spokesperson said, "The SCDF received a call at 1pm today, informing of a fire at the Traffic Police station.
"One fire engine, one red rhino and two fire bikes were were sent to the scene.
"The fire was extinguished using two water jets.
"A total of nine motorbikes were damaged.
"A 29-year-old Malay woman was conveyed to Changi Hospital for smoke inhalation."
"We were enjoying our lunch in the office when suddenly one of our colleagues ran in and urged us to go out," said Diana. "We were all surprised to see that a fire had broken out at the Traffic Police station, and a lot of loud sounds were heard."
"Within five minutes, two fire engine cars arrived and put the fire down."
