Bundesliga side Hannover have claimed they will reject any offers from Liverpool for goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler in the summer.

The 24-year-old is currently regarded as one of Germany's best goalkeepers and would arguably be in the running for the number one jersey in the national team if not for the dominant form of Bayern Munich custodian Manuel Neuer.

After some excellent displays for Hannover in the past three seasons, Zieler has attracted the interest of several teams across Europe but the one team regularly linked with a move for him have been Liverpool, especially given recent speculation over the future of Pepe Reina.

"We wouldn't even think about it," Hannover coach Mirko Slomka said. "Zieler is a fantastic keeper.

His stance was echoed by club president Martin Kind and sporting director Dirk Dufner, who both declared Zieler would not be for sale.

"Zieler will stay," Kind stated. "We don't need the money."

Zieler has spent the last couple of seasons vying with Hamburg's Rene Adler, Tim Wiese of Werder Bremen and Borussia Monchengladbach starlet Marc-Andre ter Stegen to be Neuer's deputy in the national team.
