A total of 70 athletes have made it to the preliminary shortlist to represent Singapore at the Asian Youth Games in Nanjing, China, in August.
Seven sports received the nod - swimming, shooting, table tennis, athletics, badminton, fencing and judo.
Singapore won nine gold medals at the last edition of the Games in 2009, when it was the host country.
But with bowling and sailing out of the list for Nanjing, it is unlikely to repeat that performance.
Sports associations have until June 11 to submit the final names for entry, and the door is not shut on those who missed the cut this round.
