Four men have been arrested for allegedly slashing one man in Geylang last Thursday.

The May 9 incident which occurred at Geylang Lorong 23 had left the victim, in his 30s, injured but conscious.

Police said in a statement that the injured man is in stable condition.

A 42-year-old male suspect was first arrested on May 12 along Lorong 9 in Geylang. The suspect had attempted to flee, police said, but was quickly subdued.

The other 3 suspects, aged 21 to 34, were arrested in a residential unit at Champions Way. The suspects were uncooperative and had barricaded themselves inside the unit.

Police then made a forced entry into the unit and arrested the men. Two weapons were also found.

Police believe that the slashing incident was sparked by a dispute between the subjects involved.

The suspects will be produced in court on May 14 for causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon. If found guilty, they could face life imprisonment, or 15 years in jail. They can also be fined or caned.
