ABOUT THE SHOW

VoicesTODAY, airs every Thursday at 9pm on Channel 5. We will be inviting you, the public, to have your say on the hot topic of the week. This is a live talkshow with a difference – there will be no studio guests; instead viewers will get to hear from regular folks with opinions on the issues that matter to them.

THIS THURSDAY’S TOPIC (March 7): Cars: Would you rather pay to use, or pay to own?
  1. Can you get by without a car in Singapore — or is one a necessity for you?
  2. Will the higher upfront costs of buying a car now (with recent car loan restrictions and higher registration fees) put you off — or are you hoping a possible fall in COE prices could keep it within your reach?
  3. Would you pay more in ERP fees, as a trade-off for a tweak in policies that would make it possible for you to afford a car? Or
  4. Should the average Singaporean forget about aspiring to own a car, which would become a luxury for the well-off?
Tell us what you think.

We will highlight views posted on Facebook, Twitter and the TODAY website. We’ll also have callers, video-chat participants and, we hope, lively exchanges between them and our two hosts, Nicholas Fang and Hazlina Halim.

Here’s how you can be part of bringing this conversation alive:
