Ford has announced a new entry into the hot-hatch market, the Fiesta ST. The car will be powered by a 1.6 litre, 4 cylinder, Ford EcoBoost engine developing 180hp and 290Nm of torque.

The all-aluminium engine features direct injection and low inertia turbocharging which will help the car complete the century sprint in 6.9 seconds. Ford quotes fuel economy figures of 5.9l/100km with CO2 emissions of 138g/km.
