Pahang's winning start to the 2013 Malaysia Super League season was ended on Saturday as they fell to a 3-2 loss to Selangor at the Shah Alam Stadium.
Tok Gajah, who had defeated Darul Takzim, FELDA United and Negri Sembilan in their opening three games, found themselves 2-0 down after 21 minutes courtesy of a clinical double from Selangor star Amri Yahyah.
However, Pahang pulled one back through Fauzi Roslan in the 25th minute before drawing level just before halftime when Razman Roslan converted a penalty.
But the Red Giants continued to look the more threatening of the two sides and eventually found the winner ten minutes from time when Ramzul Zahini scored with a brilliant header.
Over at the Jalan Besar Stadium, LIONSXII bounced back from Tuesday's defeat to PKNS FC with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Terengganu.
The visitors edged ahead in the 33rd minute when Jean-Emmanuel Effa Owona met a freekick from Vincent Bikana and expertly guided his header past Izwan Mahbud's despairing dive, but LIONSXII equalised in the 65th minute when Safuwan Baharudin stabbed home the ball from close range.
10 minutes later, young striker Syafiq Zainal, who was thrown on at halftime, nodded home a lovely cross by Shahfiq Ghani for his first goal in LIONSXII colours, handing his side all three points in the process.
Bottom club Negri Sembilan's problems continued as they fell to a 1-0 home defeat to ten-man Perak, with Failee Ghazli netting an injury-time winner.
On Friday, defending champions Kelantan were held to a 0-0 draw at FELDA United, while Darul Takzim and ATM played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Larkin Stadium.
ATM took the lead after just six minutes when Amirizdwan Taj Tajuddin ventured forward and found the back of the net, but the hosts equalised 11 minutes later through ex-Spain international Dani Guiza.
Irwan Fadzli Idrus then restored Armed Forces' lead in the 38th minute with an exquisite freekick, but Norshahrul Idlan Talaha struck for Darul Takzim two minutes later to earn his side a share of the spoils.
Finally, goals from Zamri Morshidi, Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh and Fakrul Aiman handed PKNS FC a 3-0 win at T-Team.
