BREAKING: Honda Civic burst into flames on PIE

A car was spotted up in flames on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) early this morning.

A contributor to Stomp, Tina, captured photos of car ablaze on the extreme right lane of the expressway.

The driver and a passenger were spotted a distance away due to the heat from the blaze.

Said Tina: ""I saw a Honda Civic burst into flames on PIE(Jurong) outside Thomson Road exit.

"The driver was standing quite a distance away watching her car burn down."

Tina added that the heat was so intense that it could be felt when she drove past the wreck.

"When I looked back through my mirror, the whole engine compartment of the car was almost gone."

Netizens also reported a massive jam this morning on the PIE, which could be related to the incident.
