Boy, 13, arrested for causing void deck fire

A boy, 13, has been arrested on suspicion of causing a fire at the bicycle bay of a HDB block in Tampines.

The boy is believed to have thrown a lighted sparkler at a bicycle parked at Block 842F Tampines Street 82 on December 14.

The bicycle was damaged as a result of the fire, the police said in a statement today.

He was found and arrested at about 9.15pm on the same evening.
