Singapore will be hosting an Exercise Suman Protector, which is a major Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA) joint planning exercise involving the armed forces from Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

The exercise, which is the second in the series, will be held from Oct 8 to 24, 2012, and will involve about 400 personnel and various support elements from the FPDA member nations.

The command post exercise, held at the Changi Command and Control Centre, will involve the planning of conventional operations at the combined joint task force level, and also include a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) scenario.

The Chief of Defence Force of the Malaysian Armed Forces, General Tan Sri Dato' Sri Zulkifeli bin Mohd Zin will be officiating at the closing ceremony at Changi Naval Base on Oct 24, 2012.
