Tuesday's 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup Qualifying Results
Brunei 3-2 Cambodia
Timor Leste 3-1 Laos

Brunei kept alive their hopes of qualifying for the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup on Tuesday after coming from behind to beat Cambodia 3-2.

Having fallen to a 1-0 defeat to hosts Myanmar in their opening qualifier, Kwon Oh-soh's men entered Tuesday's game aware anything less than three points would all but end their hopes of progress.

Five minutes before the half-hour mark, that looked to be just the case when Cambodia took the lead after 18-year-old midfielder Prak Mony Udom snuck in behind the opposition backline and coolly slotted home.

However, another teenager netted 11 minutes after the break and this time it was one of Brunei's - 17-year-old Aminuddin Zakwan Tahir drilling a shot into the bottom corner after a left-wing cross had been cleared straight to him.

Three minutes after the hour mark, Tebuan were ahead when DPMM FC midfielder Helmi Zambin stabbed home after the Cambodians failed to clear their lines, and it was 3-1 in the 70th minute when more poor defending saw a clearance fall straight at the feet of Azwan Salleh, who proceeded to smash his effort into the back of the net.

Deep into injury-time, Cambodia pulled one back when Khim Borey found himself unmarked inside the area and glanced home a header, but it was too little too late as Brunei held on for a valuable three points, ending their opponents hopes of progress in the process.

In Tuesday's other game, Timor Leste picked up their second win of the qualifiers after beating Laos 3-1.

Murilo de Almeida opened the scoring for the O Sol Nascente from the spot in the 43rd minute, before Adelino Trindade added a second six minutes into the second half when he sent a looping header into the back of the net after a loose ball fell into his path.

The Laotians pulled one back in the 77th minute when Visay Phaphouvanin fired an effort into the top corner from just inside the area, but Timor Leste made sure of the win seven minutes from time when Alan Leandro tore down the left and cut inside his marker, before firing a shot into the bottom corner.
