GOTCHA!
Police have arrested a 52-year-old woman believed to be involved in a spate of theft cases committed in the cubicles of female public toilets in Ang Mo Kio estate.

Since mid-December 2011, police have received several reports about handbags and valuables placed on the ledge behind the toilet seats being stolen.

On September 13 2012 at about 4pm, the suspect was arrested in the vicinity of Jalan Kayu.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is believed to be responsible for at least 10 cases of theft committed in Ang Mo Kio, Yishun, Hougang and Sengkang estates.

The suspect will be charged in court on September 15 for the offence.

If convicted, she faces a fine, or imprisonment for a term which may extend up to three years, or both.
