With a series of road closures in the Marina Centre and City hall area happening from Wednesday onwards, ticket-holders to this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix might want to consider leaving the car at home.

SMRT has added about 330 train trips on its MRT lines and extended train and bus service timings from Sept 21 to 23, 2012.

The last north, east and west-bound trains from City Hall will leave the station at 1.11am on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

For the Circle Line, the last train service from Promenade to Marina Bay and from Promenade to Tai Seng, will leave Promenade station at 1am on all three days.

Train and bus schedules have also been adjusted so that passengers taking the last train service from the city will be able to connect to other MRT and LRT lines.

The transport provider has also reduced waiting time with trains on the east and west-bound lines arriving every four minutes while those on the north and south-bound lines will arrive at approximately every three minutes.

This will happen from 9.15pm on all three race days.

SMRT has also increased train service frequency on the Circle Line, with trains arriving at six-minute intervals. Bukit Panjang LRT service will also be extended with the last LRT train departing from Choa Chu Kang at 2.10am.

Passengers can alight at any of the six MRT stations around the F1 circuit area. The six stations are City Hall and Raffles Place interchanges, Nicoll Highway, Promenade, Bayfront and Esplanade stations.

SMRT will operate a manned taxi service counter at Kallang Leisure Park (along carpark F) from 9pm to 1am on all three race days. A $10 surcharge is applicable for passengers boarding a taxi from the counter location.
