Singapore police say they are monitoring the situation in countries where protests have broken out over the film "Innocence of Muslims", which denigrates Islam.

U.S. diplomatic posts around the world have been targeted in recent days by protests against the film ``Innocence of Muslims,'' which ridicules the Prophet Muhammad.

Singapore has condemned the film. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday that the video is highly offensive to Muslims and that Singapore deplores the actions of the film-makers.

A statement from the police said officers on the ground remain vigilant and will respond swiftly to any incidents.
