Following five days of online voting on questions they would like the Prime Minister to answer, Singaporeans signalled that bread-and-butter issues are still the most important for them.

More than 2,000 of 21,000 votes cast went to asking Mr Lee Hsien Loong how he plans to manage the cost of living here. He will be answering this and other questions in a series of videos next week, in an exclusive event run by Singapolitics, The Straits Times' new current affairs website.

In "Ask the PM", people were invited to send questions or suggestions regarding an issue they feel is important to the country. More than 400 e-mails were filed over a period of two weeks, from the first week of September.

Yesterday, after five days and 21,000 votes, Singaporeans had chosen 10 top questions.
