Under the name Ibrahim Ismail, the Sultan has uploaded private photographs of himself travelling and spending quality time with his children.
Sources close to the royal palace confirmed that the Facebook account was indeed the Sultan's, who joined the social networking site to be closer and communicate with his subjects.
The source added that the Sultan's royal consort Raja Zarith Sofiah Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah together with his children, except for their youngest son Tunku Abu Bakar, have their own Facebook and Twitter accounts.
The couple's other children are Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail, Tunku Temenggong Tunku Idris, Tunku Aminah, Tunku Abdul Jalil and Tunku Abdul Rahman.
Facebook user Noor Azua Irma posted on the Sultan's wall saying that she was proud to be online friends with the Ruler.
Out of the 48 photographs, one of them showed him hugging his daughter Tunku Aminah during one of their trips to Australia recently saying that he loves his one and only daughter (Sayang anak tu lah satu girl saya.)
