Singapore League Cup Results

Group A
DPMM FC 0-2 SAFFC

Group C
Hougang United 0-2 Home United

Home United will meet DPMM FC in the quarter-finals of the Singapore League Cup after beating Hougang United 2-0 on Wednesday to finish top of Group C.

Veteran striker Indra Sahdan Daud opened the scoring at the Bishan Stadium for Home four minutes after coming as a half-time substitute with a well-placed strike into the top corner.

Eight minutes later, he wrapped the win - and top spot in the group - when he netted from close range after Cheetahs goalkeeper Ridzuan Hasan spilled a low shot from Qiu Li straight into his path.

Hougang will now meet SAFFC in Saturday's other quarter-final clash, after the Warriors finished first in Group A with a 2-0 win over DPMM at Choa Chu Kang Stadium.

Singapore international Fazrul Nawaz broke the deadlock in the 29th minute when he headed home a pinpoint cross from Ruzaini Zainal, but five minutes into the second half, Shukor Zailan wasted a good chance to double the hosts' advantage when his penalty was saved by Wardun Yussof, after the DPMM custodian had brought down Aliff Shafaein in the box.

However, there was to be no denying Richard Bok's men as they went on to seal all three points in injury-time when Aliff put the finishing touches to a sweeping counterattack.

Tanjong Pagar United and Courts Young Lions, the third-placed teams in both groups, will meet in the semi-finals of the plate competition on Monday.
