Earlier today, the men's team went down 3-0 to top seeds China in the quarter-finals in the men's team event of the table tennis competition at London's ExCel Arena.

Ma Long opened China's accounts with an opening 11-4, 11-5, 11-6 win over Singapore's top paddler Gao Ning.

That lead was extended to 2-0 after Wang Hao overcame a nervous start against a valiant Zhan Jian to prevail 11-8, 11-3, 11-4, before Wang teamed up with Zhang Jike to beat Zhan and Yang Zi 11-8, 11-9, 11-3 in the doubles match to seal the victory.

China will meet either Austria or Germany in the semi-finals.
