130,000 Singaporeans to receive GST voucher cheques this week

About 130,000 Singaporeans will be receiving their GST voucher cheques this week.

They make up about 10% of those eligible for the cash handouts, which are one of three payments which lower-income Singaporeans are getting as part of a new GST voucher scheme.

Those with an assessable income of $24,000 or less and living in homes with an annual value of $20,000 or less got up to to $250.

The other two components are utility rebates, which were directly deposited into their utility accounts last month and Medisave top-ups, which will also take effect from Wednesday.
