Two teens convicted of Potong Pasir rioting

Two teenagers have been convicted of rioting. Lim Ming Yi and Liong Hong Ting, now 18, were found guilty of stabbing Raffles Institution student Anand Ravindran with a knife.

The incident happened in December last year, at a void deck in Potong Pasir Avenue 1.

The 17-year-old victim was stabbed in his abdomen.

Lim and Liong are the second and third persons to be convicted of rioting.

Court documents stated that five others were involved.

They are Terence Chue Wei Teck, now 17; Isacc Ang Shi Ming, now 17, and two unknown female accomplices. Another boy, who was only 15 at the time of the offence, cannot be named.

Ang was sentenced to two years' probation in April.

The judge has called for a probation report and a Rehabilitation Training Centre report in view of the seriousness of the incident.

Lim and Liong are now in remand and will be sentenced next month. Meanwhile, Chue, who was also in court on Friday, will have his case mentioned again on June 26.
