More women paying for vaginal reconstruction

A new trend is emerging where professional women are willing to pay from $4,000 to $25,000 for vaginal reconstruction to improve their sex lives.

According to a 42-year-old woman known only as Ms He, her sex life was revitalised after she underwent a reconstruction procedure.

She said that before the surgery, her intimate relationship with her boyfriend was affected because of the way her vulva looked.

One of the most common vaginal corrections is vulva reconstruction. Most cases involve the shrinking of extended vulvas.

In the past, most vulva reconstruction surgeries were performed by gynecologists to help women whose genitals became deformed after giving birth.

Such correctional surgeries have been on the rise in the US, UK and Australia since 15 years ago.

Besides vulva reconstruction, some women may also correct the tightness of the vagina.
