The Public Service is adding three service principles to better guide the relationship between the Public Service and Singaporeans.

Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who is also the Minister in charge of the Civil Service, said these are:

1) people-centricity
2) mutual courtesy and respect
3) shared responsibility for public good

These principles were recommended by a team of public officers who reviewed the Service Principles last year to ensure their continued relevance.

They are the latest addition to four existing Service Principles, which are Care, Accessibility, Responsibility and Effectiveness (CARE) - introduced in 1995.
