Kelantan saw off a second-half challenge from Malaysia Super League rivals Terengganu on Wednesday to book their spot in the quarterfinals of the AFC Cup with a 3-2 win.

Two opportunistic strikes from Norfarhan Mohamad inside 20 minutes put the Red Warriors firmly in control of the game, before centre-back Mohd Rizal Fahmi added a third on the stroke of halftime with a stunning freekick.

However, Ismail Faruqi Asha'ri pulled one back for the visitors in the 57th minute, before Francis Forkey Doe netted from the spot five minutes from time, after Obinna Nwaneri had received his marching orders for a last-man challenge on Abdul Hadi Yahya, to set up a nervous finish for Kelantan.
